Upfitter No-Crimp Solution – Expanded Wire Options

The Open Trail Creations Upfitter No-Crimp Solution is a clean, serviceable way to access factory upfitter wiring — without cutting, splicing, or crimping into your truck’s harness.

Mounted adjacent to the factory upfitter relay box, this enclosure provides organized, protected access to the factory wires using a no-crimp approach that keeps everything reversible and tidy.

Available Configurations

Choose the setup that fits how you plan to power your accessories:

6-Wire (Standard)
Access to the six factory Aux Switch circuits.
Uses our original enclosure size.

7-Wire
Aux Switches + Ignition-hot wire.

8-Wire
Aux Switches + Ignition-hot + Always-hot wire.

10-Wire
Full access: Aux Switches + Ignition-hot + Always-hot + both PTO wires.

Enclosure Details

• Configurations with 7 or more wires use our newer, expanded enclosure.
• All enclosures include internal provisions for all 10 factory circuits using lever-style connectors.
• Unused circuits are not passed through the enclosure and their corresponding access ports are securely plugged. No unused pigtails are provided.

Each option is designed with the same focus on clean routing, easy serviceability, and preserving the factory wiring.

Electrical Load Best Practice

Ford upfitter circuits allow for higher current capability, but most accessories draw far less than the maximum rating. For accessories that involve sustained high-current loads (such as onboard air compressors or large inverters), standard automotive practice is to use the upfitter switch as a control signal for a dedicated relay and fused power feed, rather than routing the full load through intermediate connectors.

This approach reduces heat at connection points, minimizes voltage drop, and provides the most reliable long-term solution.
